Ligue 1 Match Preview: Lille vs. Bordeaux

Updated: April 22, 2014

Match Date: 27 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Grand Stade Lille Métropole

Both Lille and Bordeaux will try to extend their undefeated streaks and go for a stronger finish this season. Given the undisputed strength of the two clubs, it is not surprising to witness a down the wire match.

Lille gets the overt upper hand in this particular match. The team has been presenting an impressive display, most especially in their encounters at home. The indomitable Vincent Enyeama made it possible for them to keep a clean sheet in its last 6 home matches. The astounding goalkeeper and also captain of Nigeria’s Super Eagles made it difficult for its opponents to score a single goal and there is a possibility that the 6 clean sheets could extend to 7.

As mentioned, the two boasts an above average team form. As for Lille, the club won and drew thrice in its last 6 matches. It is currently assured of qualifying for next season’s Champions League qualifiers and occupies the 3rd spot of Ligue 1.

But despite Lille’s seemingly intimidating form,  it seems that this has little effect to Bordeaux.

As stated, they have a superb form to brag too. They have only won once in their last  6 matches, but the other 5 matches ended in an even steven stalemate. Likewise, the club has managed to secure 3 draws in its last 3 away matches, thus, facing Enyeama may not be that threatening to the club.

Prediction: Lille

There is a possibility to end in a draw. However, it cannot be denied that Lille remains as the top pick of sports betting sites.
