Guingamp and Toulouse

Match Date: 10 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade municipal de Roudourou

Struggling to survive in the 16th spot, Guingamp has 2 matches left to collect more points, move a notch higher in the table and secure a safer place in the Ligue 1 table. Meanwhile, its upcoming opponent, Toulouse, although secured of remaining in France’s top-flight league, hopes to put an end to its victory drought.

Guingamp just forced a 1-1 stalemate against AS Monaco. Considering the gap in terms of rank and team depth between the two, Guingamp’s performance in the said match can be fairly described as an impressive one. Aside from that, it has also served a variety of purpose. One of this is to reduce its risk of further slipping into the relegation zone and the other one is eliminating AS Monaco from the title race, thus, helping Paris Saint Germain (PSG) clinch another silverware.

With the said victory and (surprisingly) with a much better form than Toulouse, Guingamp is currently pegged as the game’s online betting favorite. After suffering 4 consecutive defeats, the newly promoted club fought its way back to its winning ways. It dominated the match against Valenciennes and as mentioned, destroyed AS Monaco’s title hopes.

Toulouse, on the other hand has not won a single match within the course of its last 7 games. Within the 7 matches that they lost, the club has also conceded an average of 2 goals in 4 of them.

In as much as this game is important to Guingamp and so is for Toulouse. There is a tight race happening between Toulouse and other clubs wanting to enter the top 10. It is also a now or never scenario for them.

Given this aspect at hand, aside from the possibility of Guingamp taking the limelight, one can also expect a draw from the match.

Prediction:  Guingamp or draw
