Evian Thonon Gaillard

Match Date: 10 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: Parc des Sports, Annecy

After suffering defeat last week, both Evian Thonon Gaillard and OGC Nice are eager to score points in their remaining matches. Yet, between the two, it is Evian, which carries the bulk of the pressure.

Evian currently stays out of the relegation zone due to its 1-point lead over Sochaux. However, this will not guarantee its survival. Sochaux pulled off a crucial draw against the table leader, Paris Saint-Germain and with a maximum of 6 points to earn, they can easily outrank the Savoy Crosses.

Fully aware of the above-mentioned possibility, Evian’s only option is steal the spotlight from Nice. They have the full advantage since they will be playing in their own territory.

In terms of their team form, they also have the advantage despite suffering their 3rd consecutive loss. Evian has only won twice in its last 6 matches, whereas Nice has only won once.

Speaking of Nice, the squad’s current situation compels them to win the match. It could be a difficult one since they just lost 14 of its last 15 away clashes. As mentioned, its team form is not that great either.

Sitting on Ligue 1’s 14th spot, Nice is guaranteed of staying in France’s top-flight league. Yet, they cannot use this as an excuse to fall out in their match against Evian. They owe it to themselves and to their supporters.

Nice, despite its heartbreaking form remains as the match’s online betting favorite. However, they cannot immediately disregard the possibility of a draw.

Prediction:  OGC Nice or draw
