Whether Lazio’s decision to sell the ambidextrous Hernanes to Inter was a sound one—that is yet to be evaluated in their upcoming match against the capital club, Roma.

Lazio’s management has been under fire after Hernanes’ transfer and the latter disclosing that the club’s “lack of ambition,” prompted him to leave the squad. Aparecido Cesar also showed support to the Brazilian playmaker’s sentiments, saying that Lazio is purely run as a business enterprise rather than as a football club.

Amidst the ruckus of Hernanes’ transfer, another transfer is set to make some news in the Biancocelesti squad and this is the entry of Nantes forward, Filip Djordjevic. The Serbian is expected to give a lift to Lazio’s front line and help them achieve a stronger finish.

Lazio entered has recently entered the league’s top ten (10) after a 2-0 victory against Chievo Verona. They brag a fit form where they have lost once, drew twice and won thrice during their last six (6) matches.

AS Roma

Although the Giallorossi may have a hard time clinching the Scudetto with Juventus unstoppable rise, they are nonetheless up for a stronger finish and a possible silverware in Coppa Italia.

Ranked 6th last season, the capital club is already assured of an appearance in the Champions League next season and just recently, they took the upper hand against rivals Napoli in the Coppa Italia semis.

Indeed, their successful performance in the transfer market such as the capture of the Ivorian striker, Gervinho and of course, the impressive displays on the pitch yielded notable rewards. With their recent victory in one of the most awaited competitions in Italy, the Giallorossis proved to be a strong force to reckon with.

Roma is undefeated in twenty-two (22) of its twenty-three (23) matches and installed a record of scoring at least three (3) goals in their last three (3) matches. With such impressive form, beating them may not be very easy.

Prediction: AS Roma

The upcoming match is a certified clash of Serie A’s titans. Roma gets the upper hand, but Lazio is also a pitch warrior that hardly settles for second best. There is a possibility for the match to end in an even steven finish.
