La Liga Preview: Málaga vs. Granada

Updated: October 2, 2014

Match Date: 04 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: La Rosaleda

Málaga’s narrow defeat to Getafe pushed them into the 13th spot of the league table.  It is for this reason that the squad is compelled to secure and snatch 3 important points during its match against Granada.

The contenders

Already in its 4 winless streak, Málaga continues to experience a steady decline.  So far, the only reason that keeps it from hitting the rock bottom part of the table, were the draws that it has incurred.

Although its current situation hardly triggers a panic attack, this does not give them the permission to be content with a lackluster performance.

In a press conference, Sergie Darder explained that the squad is way better than what the numbers say. But such comments were cheap talk. The online betting favorite must prove its worth via clinching a win in its upcoming match.

Granada’s humiliating loss against Barcelona pulled them out of the league’s top 10. The 6-0 loss was more than enough to damage the club’s goal difference and let others topple them without exerting too much effort.

But despite the loss, the return of Ruben Rochina provides a glimmer of hope for the squad. Rochina previously suffered from a muscular problem, which created doubts over his health.

Possible head turners

It will be exciting to see a scoring face-off between Malaga’s Ignacio Camacho and Granada’s Ruben Rochina.
