Getafe CF

Match Date: 03 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez

After losing one of its key players due to injury, Getafe is in dire need of making big adjustments in its techniques and strategies. Fortunately, the sports betting favorite seems to have the odds in its favor. Pitted against the newly-promoted Cordoba, it does not take a genius to see that Getafe, indeed, has the advantage over its opponent.

The contenders

A broken clavicle will sideline Getafe’s striker, Alvaro Vazquez and he is expected to stay out of the pitch for approximately three (3) months.

Vazquez’ absence created a major impact in the club’s scoring, which is crucial in its attempt to retain its La Liga status. Just recently, Getafe showed that it is back to its winning ways when it clinched its 2nd victory after experiencing 3 consecutive losses. But with Vazquez injury,  Getafe’s plans will experience a major turn.

Nevertheless, they can use the match against Cordoba to score more points and hopefully, create a buffer zone that will prevent them from slipping into the relegation zone.

Winless and sitting at the rock bottom pit of the table, Cordoba’s head honcho, Albert Ferrer stressed that a draw is still better than losing all 3 points. This was after his side forced a scoreless stalemate against Espanyol.

Ferrer has readily proven his point. But on the contrary, Cordoba’s current situation cannot rely on draws. What they need is a win or they might see themselves returning to Segunda Division.

Possible head turners

Cordoba’s Luso is one of the head turners that Getafe should watch out for. The prolific midfielder is readily capable of causing an upset that may halter Getafe’s campaign this season.
