La Liga Preview: Elche vs. Granada CF

Updated: August 28, 2014

Match Date: 31 August 2014 (local time)

Venue: Martinez Valero

Elche needs to double its efforts in their upcoming match against Granada. It may have the home court advantage, but their disappointing loss to Barcelona readily crushed the club’s morale.

On the other hand, Granada’s well-deserved win against Deportivo gave them the confidence they need to strike another victory this weekend.

The contenders

In its first match, Elche was forced to contain the scoring prowess of Lionel Messi. The latter scored 2 important goals and Munir El Haddadi added more damage when he went he contributed in the squad’s scoring list.

Elche endured a painstaking survival struggle last season. It managed to land on the 16th spot, but its recent performance was barely enough to assure its supporters of a strong and formidable campaign.

Granada CF

Granada’s win marked a strong start for the club. Similar to Elche, it also fought hard to retain its La Liga status. As a matter of fact, a mere single point separates the two in the top-flight league table.

Should Granada’s impressive performance continues, it has a strong chance of making it to the mid-table this season.

Possible head turners

It will be a delight to witness Ruben Rochina scoring another goal in their next match. Whilst it is true that Elche is a strong favorite of online betting odds, Granada can use the opportunity to prove that they are far from the typical push-over.

What the odds say

Betting odd valued at 2.26 is given to Elche. Meanwhile, considering that Granada is still high with their recent success, going for them is also a profitable bet. They are valued to win at 3.23.
