Updated: October 14, 2014

Match Date: 19 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Riazor

Deportivo welcomes Valencia with the hope that they will be able to clinch its 2nd win for the season. The squad struggles at the rock bottom part of the table and has been tagged as one of the online betting favorites to exit the top-flight league.

The contenders

Deportivo La Coruna

Unfortunately, a win against Eibar was not enough to inspire the newly-promoted club. After its short stint of success, the group stumbled into four (4) consecutive losses. Their most recent defeat was against Sevilla wherein the latter thrashed them with 4 goals.

More problems arise within the Deportivo camp as left back Roberto Canella allegedly incurred a hamstring injury, which could sidelined him during the match. The performance of international duties of some of its players such as Pablo Insua, Ivan Cavaleiro and Haris Medunjanin  is also hurting Deportivo’s lineup.
Wary of the relegation threats and dangers that his side faces, Deportio’s head honcho, Victor Fernandez took responsibility for the squad’s slow start.

The season’s dark horse is plain unstoppable. Currently occupying the 2nd spot of the La Liga table, the squad outlasted the defending champion, Atletico Madrid.
With the said victory, the squad was able to maintain a clean slate and strengthen its season campaign.

Possible head turners

Paco Alcacer has been hitting the headlines lately. The talismanic striker has been scoring goals not only for Valencia, but also for Spain. And considering his impressive performance, it is less likely for him to stop too soon.
