Match Date: 04 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio del Mediterráneo

Early relegation candidate, Elche will try to change the course of its destiny when they visit Almeria. The club flirts in the relegation zone again. This is after suffering three (3) consecutive losses in Spain’s top-flight league.

The contenders

The Rojiblancos have shown quite an improvement in the season. It is evident that the squad has learned its lesson well after surviving massive relegation threats. Currently, the squad sits on the 11th spot of the La Liga table after securing a win against the newly-promoted club, Deportivo La Coruna.

However, Almeria must show consistency should they wish to avoid the problems that they have committed in the past.  As Edgar Mendez stressed, they should play every match as if it were their last.

Sitting on the 16th spot of the table, Elche is in dire trouble of facing relegation threats. The club has only won once since the season started and has already experienced 3 consecutive losses—one  of them was             ’s top pick,  Real Madrid,  where they were readily thrashed by 5 goals.

When asked about the possibility of losing their La Liga status, Victor Rodriguez  explained that relegation is something that they are currently working on.

Possible head turners

Almeria’s defender, Ximo Navarro will see to it that it will not be easy for Elche to retain the ball in their side. Navarro is  a defender of natural class and sophistication and definitely, he will not let any of Elche’s scoring attempt to materialize.
