Sevilla and Espanyol

Match Date: 05 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan

Unai Emery and Javer Aguirre have several things in common. First, their side was among the (losers) last weekend. Lastly, both blamed the referee’s decision as the reason behind their (undeserving) defeat.

Emery stressed that Sevilla should have gained the upper hand against Celta Vigo if not for the penalty given to their opponent during the dying moments of the match. He implied that the call was out of the line and materialized only when the possibilities of ending in a draw became more evident.

But despite the loss and the “referee rant,” Emery has still managed to acknowledge the impressive performance shown by Celta Vigo. The loss was Sevilla’s first during its last 6 matches.

On the other hand, Aguirre had the same sentiments as that of Emery. During the match against Barcelona,  Aguirre was confident that a draw will most likely take place. Unfortunately, it never materialized.  Espanyol’s head honcho cried foul over the handball penalty given to Javi Lopez, whilst Javier Macherano’s slapping of Lopez went unnoticed.
Due to the said incident, not only did Espanyol failed to secure the important points, it also tainted their spectacular form.

Prediction:  Sevilla

Sevilla’s great form explains why it is 12BET’s online betting favorite. Securing 5 consecutive victories is never an easy feat. It is also a manifestation of the club’s depth and proficiency on the pitch. The Sevillistas are valued to win at 2.25 while giving away an Asian handicap of 1.
