Real Valladolid vs RCD Espanyol

Match Date: 03 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio Nuevo José Zorrilla

Real Valladolid is in dire trouble of retaining its Primera status. The club slumped to the 19th spot of the La liga table after a 4-1 punishment from Celta Vigo. Espanyol is likewise unhappy with its defeat against Almeria. Such scenario generates more problems for Valladolid as Espanyol is more likely to seek redemption in their upcoming match.

With the recent defeat experienced by the Pucelas, the club is on the verge of falling out of Spain’s top-flight league. Their ideal scenario will be to win all their  4 remaining matches, including the one against Espanyol, to survive. But with Real Madrid waiting for them, the win all scenario is quite impossible to achieve.

On the other hand, Espanyol’s head honcho, Javier Aguirre was readily disappointed with the club’s lackluster performance. Espanyol bowed down to Almeria, which caused the squad to drop into the 12th spot of the table.

The Periquitos are eyeing for a stronger finish this season and so incurring a loss, most especially during the last stretch of the tournament is quite unacceptable.

Despite Espanyol’s better rank, this does not mean that they are the match’s online betting favorite. Valladolid has a better form. The latter was undefeated in their last 9 matches at Nuevo José Zorrilla and has kept 3 clean sheets in its last 3 matches. There is a high possibility for Valladolid to use these figures to their advantage.

Prediction: Real Valladolid
