Match Date: 04 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu

Resilient and unwilling to give up in the title race, a more determined Real Madrid welcomes a struggling Villarreal to keep the pressure against last season’s title holder, Barcelona and current table leader, Atletico Madrid.

The great Cristiano Ronaldo is back after a seemingly lackluster performance caused by a hamstring injury. The talismanic striker scored 2 important goals during the match against Ossasuna. The encounter soon ended in a 4-0 thrashing, which pushed the Los Rojillos into the bottom of the table.

Real Madrid have been triumphant in 26 of its last 28 matches at Santiago Bernabéu. So far their recent performances witnessed them score an average of 4 goals in their last 4 matches.

While the Los Blancos are confident in securing another victory, a different atmosphere can be felt within the Mestalla camp. Valencia’s head honcho, Juan Antonio Pizzi lamented on the narrow defeat that his side encountered during the Atletico Madrid match.

Pizzi stressed that the result of their previous match “perfectly suited Atletico Madrid’s playing style.” He added that if he and his players fail to match the playing style and character of their opponents, it will be difficult for them to secure a win in their succeeding matches.

Valencia’s team form has not been very spectacular. Three (3) of their last 6 matches ended in a stalemate. But they have managed to win once and endure 2 losses.

Prediction:  Real Madrid

In terms of team form and performance quality, it is not surprising to see why football betting tips choose Real Madrid as the ultimate favorite of the match.
