Granada and Levante

Match Date: 30 March 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio Los Carmenes

Levante just dropped to the 10th spot of the La Liga table after the minnow Real Betis shocked them with a 3-1 victory. On the other hand, Granada’s winger, Dani Benitez will have to leave not only Granada, but also the rest of Spain’s top flight league after tests revealed his cocaine use. With crucial issues creeping within the clubs’ system, their upcoming match will really put up a great challenge for the two.

Joaquin Caparros fully expressed his disappointment over his side’s loss to Real Betis. He stressed that the squad did not have the necessary confidence to win a match—something that their opponent had.  He also stressed that being “self-critical” is a bitter pill that they have to take if they are keen on securing a victory against Granada.

Caparros also added that they only have 8 matches left and they need to fight tooth and nail in order to get the most out of their remaining battles.

Levante’s current form can be fairly described as a satisfactory one and should not be sending alerts to their supporters and to the whole squad. However, with the current trend of their performance, it is difficult to ignore the warning signs of a steady decline. Levante did not only lose its last 3 matches, it was also scoreless, thus, raising a big concern on their offensive plans when they face Granada.

Meanwhile, other than the narrow defeat to Atletico Madrid, Granada will have to get used to the idea that they will be losing their star winger, Dani Benitez.

As mentioned, Benitez’s subsequent drug tests failed and he faces the possibility of having a 2-match ban, not to mention, his sacking from Granada.
Benitez was a key player in the club’s promotion to the top-flight league during the 2010-2011 season and has struggled to make it to the starting XI since September last year. With his absence, Lucas Alcaraz will have no choice but to change or adjust his tactical plan for the upcoming match.

Granada and Levante are separated by only 3 points. The match is crucial for it will help them climb a notch higher and at the same time, avoid slipping into the mid-table. Since they share a similar team form, they both deserve to be the top pick of sports betting sites.  Also, it is highly possible for the match to end in a stalemate.
