La Liga Match Preview: Celta de Vigo vs. Levante

Updated: October 9, 2013

Match Date: 21 October 2013

Match Venue: Estadio Balaídos, Vigo, Galicia

Celta de Vigo

Three Celta de Vigo players will be unavailable in the squad’s upcoming matches. Bellvis, Samuel Llorca, and Mario Bermejo are all sidelined due to physical mishaps. This is yet another challenge for the team, following a string of off-key runs in the season. Thus far, Luis Enrique’s men have only won once and drawn twice this term; the rest of the fixtures were below satisfying. Earning only six points from eight matches and lurking on at least four goals to cancel out their negative-digit goal difference, Os Celticos are in dire need of a victory to keep them adrift of the relegation zone.

After landing in the bottom spot at opening day, Levante have since recovered from their downfall. Now ranked within the top 10, Joaquin Caparros must have been very ecstatic of how his men have successfully risen from their abysmal curtain raiser. But still, the success is not yet that reliable. Most of the Granotes’ matches only finished in draws, with just two victories giving them any positive note. Their most recent match is in fact, an indicator that the side are yet to reach their peak. Real Madrid assaulted them in a 2-3 home defeat, calling more fruition to their otherwise, relatively boring streak.

Football betting tip: The last five meetings between these sides mostly resulted in deadlock. Celta and Levante have won one match apiece and on both occasions, the losers failed to score any goal. In this upcoming fixture, a very tight competition awaits the warriors. A stalemate is seen to be the most probable result, but Levante will find ways to make this match under their control.
