After leaving the limelight for quite a while, Barcelona is back on track. The title holder has already awakened from a deep slumber and is currently on the verge of regaining what is rightfully theirs—a La Liga trophy.

All that Barcelona needed was a thrilling victory in El Clasico. After its narrow win, which saw the talismanic Lionel Messi score a hat trick, Barcelona has been unstoppable. It went back to its winning ways and continued to defy expectations amidst speculations that the Barcelona era has finally ended. Yet, on a closer look, the losses that Barca have to endure barely tainted its reputation. Instead, it showed the champion in them. The resilience and determination it showed were trademarks of clubs destined to succeed.

While it is true that much of the club’s focus is directed in their Champions League face off against Atletico Madrid, this does not necessarily mean that it does not value its match against the minnow, Real Betis.

The match against Espanyol already served as a warning—that it cannot afford to belittle other squads. At this crucial moment where every point counts, Barcelona must see to it that they get the upper hand in all of their matches.

Yes, it is true that Real Betis is already headed to the second division. But then again, anything is possible in football and many of the biggest clubs stumble due to ignoring the potential strength of a club that fights for survival.

There is a possibility for Real Betis to cause an upset, but its chances are very slim. However, in order to avoid complacency, the online betting favorite, Barcelona simply has to remember the bitter lesson that another struggling club, Real Valladolid taught them.
