Getafe and Barcelona

Match Date: 03 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio Camp Nou

Getafe travels to Camp Nou to pursue its ambitions of surviving this difficult season, whilst the reigning champion will also use the match in an effort to defend its title against the Atletico Madrid.

The Azulones temporarily moved out of the relegation zone after securing a narrow win against Malaga. However, there is no assurance that it will help them retain their La Liga status. Even their head honcho, Cosmin Contra admitted that their recent win does not mean they have already accomplished their mission as there are 3 difficult matches ahead of them.

After going against Barcelona, Getafe will need to face Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano. The squad needs to dominate the said matches to guarantee its safety next season.

Meanwhile, Barça made a terrific come back during their match against Villarreal. The heated encounter saw Villarreal dominate the clash’s first half—thanks to Canis and Manu Trigueros efforts. Unfortunately, 2 own goals from Gabriel Paulista and Mateo Mussachio helped the defending champion impose its presence on the pitch.

Due to the heated encounter, a banana was thrown to Dani Alves. The witty right back, instead of reacting violently to the racial abuse pick up the banana and ate it as if nothing happened.
But during the dying minutes of the match, the mighty Lionel Messi scored a crucial goal that brought Barcelona the needed victory.

Prediction:  Barcelona

Getafe’s astounding win against Malaga is indeed, worthy of plaudits. However, such is not enough to call them as the match’s online betting favorite. The club has not scored in 9 of its last 11 matches, whereas Barcelona has recorded 6 victories at Camp Nou.
With the home court advantage favoring the host and of course, with an impressive form to boast, Barcelona is expected to win this particular match.
