Manchester United is just a match away from claiming the International Champions Cup’s (ICC) trophy after defeating the former champion, Real Madrid. The squad will be facing another Premier League powerhouse, Liverpool.

The upcoming match plays more significance than what many imagine. Winning the trophy is not the sole highlight of the encounter. Both squads will also use the opportunity to have a measure of each other’s strength and weaknesses prior to the season’s opening

Recap

Once again, Manchester United’s dominance can be felt on the pitch. At the tournament’s onset, the squad already featured when it secured a narrow victory over Roma.

Against Inter, the online betting favorite ensured their win over a thrilling penalty shootout. Manchester United netted five (5) goals against Inter’s three (3).

The match that propelled them towards the final was the one against Real Madrid. Despite Bale’s impressive performance, the Red Devils proved to be too strong for the Los Blancos. The latter lost, with the match ending in 3-1.

Team form

Manchester United is currently in a superb form. Its defence has improved dramatically, thus, paving way for more scoring opportunities. Wayne Rooney is back to his scoring ways, whilst the likes of Shinji Kagawa, Ashley Young and Chicharito are doing everything they can to impress their new head honcho.

The star man

Manchester United’s new manager, Van Gaal is indeed the star man of the competition. His arrival in Old Trafford has readily improved a struggling club.

The Achilles heel

Overconfidence is the sole thing that will prevent Manchester United from winning.

Reason to celebrate

There is no doubt that Liverpool is a tough opponent. Yet, a quick look at Man United’s past performances show that the Red Devils are back with a vengeance.
