It is still unsure if Filip Daems can play with the Foals. The team captain has just recovered from a hip injury and the possibility of extending his pitch vacation is high. On the other hand, many of Hertha Berlin’s key player shall have a limited time to prepare as they are still, fulfilling their international duties.

In a battle where both clubs are unwilling to surrender, only a draw serves as the match’s best result.

Team Form

Hertha Berlin

Jos Luhukay expressed his dissatisfaction on Hertha Berlin’s limited preparation against Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Although the club has managed to secure a draw against Hannover 96 and still, remains on the top spot of Bundesliga, Luhukay cannot help but worry about their upcoming match. At least 5 of the club’s starting XI is out to perform their international duties in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers and these leave them with very little time to prepare.
While it is true that these players can still allot a day or two for the training, Luhukay is wary about the risks of over fatigue and the possibility of acquiring an injury.

Speaking of injury, the club’s renowned playmaker, Anis Ben-Hatira’s condition seems to add another burden to Luhukay. The latter immediately sent Hatira for a diagnosis after news of him acquiring an injury spread. Luhukay explained that the said move is purely for precautionary measures and that Hatira’s injury is not yet confirmed, until they take hold of the diagnosis.

Hertha Berlin currently occupies the 6th spot of the Bundesliga table after settling for a draw against the equally aggressive Hannover 96.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

As the first club to beat last season’s runners-up, Borussia Dortmund, the Foals are keen on extending their winning streak as they visit Hertha Berlin. The club’s confidence further increased as team captain, Filip Daems is back on training.

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s last match proved that they cannot be easily beaten in their own ground. Not only did they clinch the victory against Dortmund, they also kept a clean sheet. With 2 goals to nil, the club now enjoys the 4th spot of Germany’s top-flight league. Now that they are about to face the newly-promoted, yet aggressive Hertha Berlin, Filip Daems’ recovery and his awaited return is expected to give more direction in the pitch. Daems has been sidelined after the Hoffenheim encounter. Nevertheless, he is on his way to recovery and has already participated in the training.

However, Daems’ appearance during the Hertha Berlin is not yet final. Medical observations will still take place to ensure the club captain’s condition.

Football betting tip: Hertha Berlin 1-1 Borussia Mönchengladbach

Both clubs are at the peak of their form despite the injuries that befall them. The mere fact that they have managed to stay on top of the Bundesliga table shows that they have adjusted well to their previous set-up.

The Foals will most likely take advantage of the fatigue factor that confronts Hertha Berlin whereas the latter will most likely use their pitch familiarity to counter Borussia Mönchengladbach’s attacks.

At the end of the day, only a fierce draw can satisfy the goals of both clubs.
