Sports betting sites heavily favor Borussia Dortmund in their match against Hamburger SV. The Borussians are finally back to their winning ways after an inconsistent performance that saw them struggle behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga table.

Hamburger SV

All eyes are set on Die Rothosen’s new head honcho, Mirko Slomka as he tries to help the club survive this season. Slomka’s appointment came as soon as Bert van Marwijk was sacked after a humiliating defeat to the minnow, Braunschweig.

Hamburger SV’s present situation hardly reflect what they achieved last season. Finishing on the 7th spot, it is a bit surprising to see them struggle in the relegation zone. Slomka’s arrival is expected to turn things around for them. But while it is true that survival is still, very much possible, one of their main biggest concerns is whether they can immediately adjust to their new coach’s tactics and approaches on the pitch.

Aside from the adjustment, injury issues also confront them, their skipper, Rafael van der Vaart will be also sidelined after incurring an ankle injury during the Braunschweig encounter. He is expected to be sidelined for three (3) weeks.

Hamburger has not won a single match during its last six (6) encounters.

Borussia Dortmund

After a short hiatus, which saw them relinquished their rank to Bayer Leverkusen, last season’s Champions League runner-up is back on its feet again. Their winning ways have returned and Robert Lewandowski returns like a well-oiled scoring machine.

With the victory against Eintracht Frankfurt, Jurgen Klopp’s side cut down Bayer’s lead to one (1) and generated hopes of getting back the honor and stature that they rightfully owned. Lewandowski, though strongly linked for a move to their fierce rival, Bayern Munchen was also happy for netting a goal for the Borussians. The striker was a bit silenced during their past encounters. But these were all in the past now as he netted a goal, which nailed Frankfurt’s coffin.

Borussia Dortmund boasts a strong away performance. They were undefeated in thirty-four (34) of their last thirty-eight (38) matches and they will carry this advantage when they visit HSH Nordbank Arena.

Prediction:  Borussia Dortmund

Unfortunately,  Hamburger, it seems that their losing streak will extend to eight (8) consecutive matches when they meet Borussia Dortmund. Currently, the latter shows no signs of slowing down during the season’s second half.
