Nantes - Filip-Djordjevic

Guingamp and Nantes are two of the most successful newly promoted clubs in Ligue 1. These two have witnessed spectacular performances and there is little chance that one club shall give way for the other. Due to this, it is not surprising to see Asian bookies foresee a draw in their upcoming match.

Match Date: 30 November 2013 (local time)

Venue: Du Roudourou

Team Form

Guingamp

Guingamp’s head honcho, Jocelyn Gourvennec casted off his worries about Mustapha Yatabaré’s injury. The reliable forward was already sidelined during the Montpellier stalemate and will most likely miss the pitch in the vital game against Nantes.

The significance of the upcoming match stems from the fact that Guingamp and Nantes were among the newly promoted clubs this season. Interestingly, these two fare better than the so-called “veterans” of France’s top-flight league. Gourvennec is fully aware of this situation. But his confidence can be attributed to their familiarity of their opponent. Moreover, forcing a draw against one of the veterans in Ligue 1 (Montpellier) was more than enough inspiration.

Guingamp sits comfortably on the 8th spot of the table. They scored 3 consecutive wins during their last 6 matches and the draw was their second. With this stature and form, it is not surprising to see the club thrive in the top 10. In the event where they are pitted against stronger squads, it will be a bit hard to see them plummet to the relegation arena. They may drop in the mid table, but perhaps it is safe to assume that it is a temporary and short-lived occasion.

Gourvennec’s camp has one of the most prolific records when it comes to their home matches. They were undefeated in their last 6 home matches. Four (4) of them ended in convincing victories while the remaining 2 resulted in a stalemate. Playing at home is probably one of their advantages over Nantes and perhaps, this also explains Gourvennec’s calm approach towards  Yatabaré’s injury.

Nantes

Michel Der Zakarian’s side joins Gourvennec in the race for the most prolific newly promoted clubs. As a matter of fact, Nantes is one of Ligue 1’s top 5 clubs despite losing to Monaco.

Nantes made an early impression via winning its debut match. However, consecutive defeats momentarily interrupted the celebration. But the mark of a truly spectacular club never ends in unsuccessful feats. Nantes soon recovered and evidently, entered the league elite circle.

Occupying the 5th spot of the table, the club has already secured 3 wins and 2 losses in their last 6 matches, The club has been consistent in scoring, which enabled it to compete against the bigger names in the league. Likewise, it must be noted that the Canaries have been successful in their away matches. Playing in a different territory barely gives them a headache, as seen in their last 6 matches where they won thrice and were only lost once.

In as much as Gourvennec enjoys their home court advantage, Zakarian and his boys can easily counter it with their impressive away matches.

Football betting tipGuingamp 1-1 Nantes

Given the strength of these clubs, the upcoming match will most likely end in a draw. Both clubs know each other from head to toe and definitely, none of them will want to throw the white towel easily.
