Venue: Goodison Park

Team Form

Everton

A narrow defeat from Tottenham caused Everton to drop to the 6th spot of the table and temporarily relinquished their right to participate in next season’s European competition.

Roberto Martinez described Everton’s last match as “harsh.” Despite the seemingly invincible defence and limiting their opponent’s goal to one (1), the club, still, succumbed to defeat. What even made the match more disappointing was the denied penalty after the clash between Etienne Capoue and Seamus Coleman.

But despite the said loss, the club gets another chance again when Crystal Palace pays them a visit. They have been undefeated in twenty (2) of their last twenty-one (21) home matches and they will definitely use such advantage to get the best out of their upcoming opponent.

Crystal Palace

Once again, the Eagles were able to veer away from the relegation zone via securing a crucial win against West Bromwich Albion.

Sitting comfortably on the 14th spot of the Premier League table, Crystal Palace has been fortunate enough to see immediate results from their new recruits. Goals from Tom Ince and Joe Ledley gave the Eagles an early lead before half-time. It was immediately followed by Marouane Chamakh’s converted penalty, which sealed West Brom’s coffin.

Amidst their impressive performance, one cannot help but question on how consistent they can be. This is most especially true in matches where they were pitted against stronger clubs or play in a different territory. To note, Crystal Palace has been unsuccessful in their last three (3) away matches. Not only did they suffer defeat, they were also unable to score during their encounters and if they want to avoid such scenario, it is is up for the club on how they will react in such a scenario.

Prediction: Everton

While it is true that Everton gets the immediate upper hand in this particular match, they cannot be too comfortable. Crystal Palace is getting stronger and fierce and for all they know, the squad might just pull off a disappointing stalemate.
