Venue: Arena Khimki

No crowd support will help CSKA Moscow achieve its Champions League ambition as the club is forced to play in an empty stadium. As for the online betting favorite,  Manchester City, Manuel Pellegrini will have to deal with the possibility of missing out one of his key players, Yaya Toure.

The contenders

CSKA Moscow

CSKA Moscow had to pay dearly for the inappropriate behavior of its supporters during the heavy defeat to AS Roma. As a result, the club is left with no other option but to play three (3) of its Champions League matches behind closed doors.

CSKA Moscow fans threw flares and flaunted racist banners at Stadio Olimpico when the host slapped them with 5 massive and humiliating goals. The visitor (CSKA Moscow) could only respond with a single goal and was fortunate enough to avoid a clean sheet. However, the effect of the said defeat lowered the Russian outfit’s chances of advancing into the next round of the tournament.

Manchester City

There is a possibility for Yaya Toure to miss the upcoming Champions League match due to his late return after performing his international duties with Ivory Coast. The poacher will already miss out the clash against Tottenham to get some rest and limit the probability of incurring an injury. Yet, it seems that the player needs more time.

Although, it can be considered as a big blow to the club, Pellegrini could always turn to Frank Lampard to fit in Toure’s shoes.

Possible head turner

Needless to say, Lampard is a threat that could readily threaten CSKA Moscow’s Champions League campaign.

Prediction

CSKA Moscow 1-2 Manchester City
