Koln- week 9

Match Date: 24 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Weserstadion

Sitting at the rock bottom part of the table, Werder Bremen is desperate for a win. The squad has transformed into a relegation favorite of sports betting sites, most especially after a major thrashing from Bayern Munchen.

The contenders

Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen is still winless since the season started. The only thing that kept them alive is the even steven finish that it had in four (4) of its matches. Werder’s biggest loss came when they fought the Bavarians. The latter crushed them with six (6) massive goals and they could only stare in disappointment as they experienced a clean sheet.

Considering the series of unfortunate scenarios that they have, another defeat could lead to the sacking of Robin Dutt, who stressed that they should “win their spirit back,” to remain competitive.

FC Cologne

Cologne will draw inspiration from its stunning win against Borussia Dortmund. The club rose to the 11th spot of the Bundesliga table after snatching a narrow 2-1 win against Dortmund. The victory can be considered as yet one of the best comebacks that Cologne had.

Prior to the said triumph, Koln suffered from three (3) consecutive losses which almost made them flirt in the relegation zone.

With a renewed confidence to boot, one can only expect a tight clash between the two (2) squads.

Possible head turners

Koln’s striker, Simon Zoller is already getting the hang of playing in the top-flight league. Thus, expect him to feature and impress in the upcoming match.
