Schalke’s rise to the top was temporarily haltered after suffering a loss in its recent match against a rampaging Hoffenheim. The team hopes that a sudden turn of events would take place when they face the inspired capital club, Hertha Berlin.

The contenders

Schalke 04

Schalke’s encounter against Hoffenheim resulted in its 3rd defeat in the current season. The squad could hardly respond to their opponent’s attacks, but thanks to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Schalke was able to avoid a clean sheet.

There is nothing new with the Royal Blues’ slow start. They also suffered a similar dilemma last season, but still, it has managed to climb the Bundesliga ladder and even secure a Champions League qualification.

Yet, it seems that the management is already tired of such roller coaster ride and so they appointed Robert Di Matteo as the squad’s new head honcho. With their next match pitted against Hertha Berlin, Di Matteo’s wit and efficiency will be readily put to the test.

Hertha Berlin

A Salomon Kalou inspired win enabled the capital club to survive VfB Stuttgart’s acid test and rise to the 12th spot of the Bundesliga table.

Kalou nailed 2 goals, which ensured the club’s upper hand in the encounter.

Possible head turner

Apparently, Kalou will be a serious threat that the online betting favorite, Schalke should readily watch out for.

Prediction

Schalke 04 2-1 Hertha Berlin
