Match Date: 13 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: Benteler Arena

It is the battle of newly-promoted squads as Paderborn and Cologne meet in a match meant to determine the better club. Both teams have been attracting the limelight due to their outstanding performances and the manner in which they disappoint and frustrate bigger clubs.

Paderborn currently occupies the 2nd spot of the table, whilst Cologne is on the 4th spot—a notch higher than the defending champion, Bayern Munich. Which of these teams will grab the coveted win?

The contenders

Paderborn does not seem to be satisfied with a draw against Mainz 05 during the season’s opening. In their match against Hamburger SV, the squad embarked on a scoring spree and employed an outstanding defence when they kept a clean sheet against Hamburger SV and scored 3 massive goals courtesy of Elias Kachunga, Mario Vrancic and Moritz Stoppelkamp.

Apparently, the said triumvirate made a great difference as they helped the squad propel into the top spot of the table.

Cologne shares a similar story to Paderborn. Their first match also ended in a draw. But when they fought against VfB Stuttgart, they emerged victorious.
Despite being a literal newbie in the top-flight league, the squad was able to put a stop to Stuttgart’s plans. At the end of the day, Cologne won the match in a convincing fashion when they slapped Stuttgart with a 2-0 victory.

Possible head turners

It is good to see how Elis Kachunga and Anthony Ujah will perform against each other. Fueled by the desire to score more points for the squad, the battle of these 2 strikers is really worth the wait.

It can be fairly said that both Paderborn and Cologne are worthy to be called as online betting favorites of the upcoming match.

Considering the squads’ form and depth, there is a high possibility for the battle to end in a stalemate. A stalemate is valued at a profitable odd of 3.19 at 12BET.
