Hannover 96

Match Date: 14 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: AWD Arena

For 2 consecutive matches, Hamburg SV has to suffer into the hands of 2 newly-promoted squads. In the season’s opening, the squad had to be content with an even steven finish against FC Cologne. Unfortunately, the result of their most recent encounter was no better than before, it actually got worse when it went against FC Paderborn. The latter thrashed them with 3 goals, kept them at bay and pushed them to the table’s rock bottom pit.

Ironic as it may seem, but perhaps, Hamburg may soon experience its first victory when they go against a veteran squad, Hannover 96.

The contenders

Hannover 96

Hannover can be fairly considered as one of the league’s top online betting favorites. The squad had a strong start when they stunned Schalke 04 with a 2-0 victory. Definitely, the victory gave them an incredible dose of morale boost, but they fell short when they went against Mainz. The latter held them to a scoreless stalemate that partially prevented their rise to the top.

Hamburg SV

Hamburg currently experiences one of its most frustrating and disappointing start in the season. The squad needs to work harder as it fell into the relegation zone soon after experiencing a draw and a massive loss.
Hamburg’s draw against Cologne was forgivable, but experiencing a massive loss to Paderborn cannot be tolerated. The latter thrashed them with 3 point and they were unable to respond, not even once, thus, resulting to a humiliating clean sheet.

Possible head turners

The defensive stunts of Hannover’s Hiroki Sakai was impressive. With him around, Hannover is assured that the ball will remain in their side. Meanwhile, Sakai simply meant more problems for the desperate Hamburg.
