Hannover just suffered its first loss in the season when a newly-promoted Paderborn held them at bay and scored 2 important goals. The defeat temporarily halted Hannover’s rise to the top. But fortunately, their impressive performance during their previous matches prevented them from slipping.

As for FC Cologne, the squad succumbed to another stalemate when they fought against Borussia Monchengladbach. The squad currently thrives on a single win and three (3) draws.

The contenders

Hannover 96

Hannover’s tight defence broke down on the 71st minute of the match when Paderborn’s Elias Kachunga scored the first goal of the match. Unfortunately, the 1-point advantage was doubled when Moritz Stoppelkamp scored an 83-metre wonder goal, which set a new Bundesliga record and at the same time, signaled Hannover’s defeat.
Due to the said loss, the club dropped to the 6th spot of the Bundesliga table. Although there is really nothing to worry since they are the favorite of sports betting sites, Hannover cannot help but be more careful in their match against FC Cologne. It will be too embarrassing to bow down to yet another newly-promoted club.

FC Cologne

The even steven finish against Borussia Monchengladbach helped Cologne earn a point in the said encounter. It may not be that big, but certainly, this is much better than going home with nothing.

Moreover, it also highlighted Cologne’s strong defence since the match ended in a scoreless stalemate.

Possible head turners

Edgar Prib and Joselu were just two (2) of Hannover’s players that Cologne should be wary of. Prib works well in defense, whilst Joselu is a renowned striker who could convert at any given time.
