Match Date: 13 September 2014 (local time)

Venue: Allianz Arena

VfB Stuttgart’s nightmare continued when the newly-promoted FC Cologne forced them to throw the white towel during their last encounter. As if immersed in a pressure cooker, VfB Stuttgart is in danger of cracking down since its next match is pitted against the defending champion, Bayern Munich.

But although online betting odds favor the Bavarians, Stuttgart still has the chance to turn the tides into its favor. Just like them, Bayern has its own private hell to address, most especially now that their seemingly strong campaign was demolished by a draw against Schalke 04.

The contenders

Bayern Munich

Pep Guardiola and his men were literally caught by surprise when they went against Schalke. Robert Lewandowski gave them an early lead, yet, a determined Benedikt Howedes scored the equalizer.

The draw was a bit disappointing considering the fact that the club was nearly invincible during the early weeks of the last season. Apparently, the draw was possible, but something that the Bavarians did not foresee to happen soon.

VfB Stuttgart

Indeed, it is hard to accept the reality that Stuttgart was readily humiliated by FC Cologne.

The former did not only scored twice, but also kept a clean sheet. Instead of improving and using the draw against Eintracht Frankfurt as inspiration, the squad seemed to retrogress. Against, Bayern, it is best if they secure the upper-hand or at the very least, force a draw.

Possible head turners

Former Real Madrid defender, Xabi Alonso settled immediately in the Allianz Arena as he ensured that the ball remains in the Bavarian’s camp during the whole match. Xherdan Shaqiri, who was said to be going to Anfield also featured. The Swiss international took several shots, thus, proving his worth in the club.

Bayern will definitely refuse to go easy with Stuttgart. The latter should try to keep their defences up as the Bavarians elicit possibilities of unleashing a massive demolition job.
