Bayern Munich sees dominance over Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s fate in the pitch has been falling under the hands of Bayern Munich. The last Bundesliga match they fought over was a sweet piece of cake for The Reds, but a bitter bowl of soup for The Foals. Their most recent derby, at the Telekom Cup, also saw the latter hanging in the sharp talons of the former. But despite these landslide wins against his men’s rival―and an utter dominance over them― Bayern manager Pep Guardiola remains firm that the new Bundeliga season will not be an easy encounter. Much more drills have to be made in order for the team to obtain absolute triumph.

The May 18 Bundesliga match created lonely clouds for Mönchengladbach who were defeated in their own home court by their opponents 3-4. Their latest match prior to that yielded a draw 1-1. With The Reds win over their rival, they did not just overthrow a strong competitor, but they also set a new record as the first team in Bundesliga history to break the 90 points barrier.

In a separate but more recent match, Bayern lead players Franck Ribery, Phillipp Lahm, Thiago Alcantara, Arjen Robben, and Thomas Muller took on their best wheelhouses again to trash Lucien Favre’s squad in the final of the Telekom Cup.  While the first half allowed Mönchengladbach’s Franck Ribery and Phillip Lahm to net three strikes, their opposition succeeded in scoring their first goal. Monchengladbach did manage to regain its pulse with a Luuk de Jong penalty right before the break, but Bayern adrenaline-soared with further strikes. The match ultimately ended with a 1-5 final score, in favor of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Bayern is currently second in UEFA’s club coefficient rankings, while Mönchengladbach is in the 83rd spot.
