Bayern Munchen vs Hamburg SV

Match Date: 03 May 2014 (local time)

Venue: HSH  Nordbank Arena

Hamburg SV’s survival run will be over soon as they meet the recently hailed, Bundesliga champion, Bayern Munchen.

From the 7th spot last season, members of the Red Shorts face relegation woes as they occupy the 18th spot of Germany’s top-flight league. In order to retain their Bundesliga status, they must overcome VfB Stuttgart’s 5-point lead. However, it is almost certain that such feat proved to be a difficult one.

Hamburg just experienced its 3rd consecutive loss. The defeat to Augsburg closed their survival opportunities as their next 2 matches are pitted against Bayern Munchen and Mainz 05.

Against the Bavarians, it is impossible for them to take the online betting favorite’s role. The best possible result that they can come up with is a draw. And evidently, this is not enough to guarantee their survival. Even if they win the match against Mainz 05, the 4-points that they have incurred will not suffice.

Moreover, with the criticism that the club received from Pep Guardiola, one can only expect the players to put extra effort in gaining their head honcho’s confidence.

For the first time in his Bundesliga stay, Guardiola criticized his team for a lackluster performance during the first half. Bayern won the match though with a resounding  5-2 victory. Yet, it was not enough to appease and impress the Spaniard.

Prediction: Bayern Munchen

Bayern Munchen will try to make it up for Guardiola and the fans’ disappointment. Expect the club to collect more points until their last Bundesliga match.
