Match Date: 19 April 2014 (local time)

Venue: Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan

Can Braunschweig beat Bayern Munchen? With the way the Bavarians have performed in its last 3 matches, there is a possibility for the minnow to cause a major upset.

Really, Bayern Munchen has nothing to aspire for this season. They have successfully defended their title, they retained their Bundesliga status, obviously, they will play in the Champions League next season and they are potential candidates for a back-to-back treble.

However, Bayern’s own strength has slowly consumed the club. They have not moved on from their triumphant title defence. Literally, they are still drunk and intoxicated with their brief fame. They might be candidates for a back-to-back treble, but their present performances have also resulted to back-to-back losses.

Recently, top brass, Pep Guardiola took the blame for the club’s consecutive defeats. Many are hoping that indeed, it will be the last. Surrendering to their title nemesis, Borussia Dortmund was too humiliating for the supporters of the online betting favorite. But losing to Braunschweig is a definite slap in the face.

Braunschweig will not be easy on Bayern, that is a fact. The club continues to hang on to the idea of surviving and retaining its Bundesliga status. This ambition is technically possible, for a single win can instantly get them out of the table’s rock bottom pit. The only problem, however, is that Braunschweig’s survival also depends on the performance of other clubs. Should the ones above the relegation zone continues to snatch more victories, this leaves the newly promoted squad with no other option but to return to the country’s second division.
