Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the clubs that slipped in the Ligue 1 table following a week of non-stop pitch action.

Les Girondins, which confronted the incumbent champ, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) were readily kept at bay as the latter made a late rally in the second half. With two (2) goals to nil, Francis Gillot and his men went home with a heavy heart.

Bordeaux currently sits on the 7th spot of France’s top flight league. Their recent loss was their third within the span of their last six (6) matches. But despite their defeat, the club has two (2) victories and a draw to brag about, thus, making their overall team form, a satisfactory one.

As of the moment, the club looks forward to snatching another win at home when they face the equally aggressive Lorient.

Lorient

The unshaken Les Merlus remained in the 10th spot after forcing the title contender, AS Monaco to a 2-2 stalemate.

It was a bit frustrating, but at the same time, worthy of praise to see Lorient gave Monaco a hard time scoring. Vincent Aboubakar gave them an early lead, but Valere Germain quickly replied. Yet, the resilient Jeremie Aliadiere took the lead for Lorient once again. Unfortunately, Layvin Kurzawa scored a late equalizer, which settled the even steven finish.

The frustrating part can be attributed to the fact that they could have won. Nevertheless, the draw kept them at the safe side of the Ligue 1 table and between the two, apparently, it was Monaco that suffered the most with the outcome.

Lorient has only lost once in their last six (6) matches. They were also undefeated in ten (10) of their last eleven (11) encounters and average on at least two (2) goals in their last eight (8) matches.

Prediction: Bordeaux

Lorient boasts a better form than Bordeaux. However, they will be playing in the latter’s territory where they play the strongest. Expect a down the wire match as these clubs fight for a better rank in France’s top-flight league.
