Team Form

Bayer Leverkusen

It seemed that Bayer still has a hangover from their humiliating Champions League loss as they suffered another loss in the domestic league.

Just recently, Bayer surrendered to Wolfsburg, with the match ending in their 3-1 defeat. In their past performances, the inconsistence of Sami Hyppia’s boys was evident. During their last six (6) matches, Bayer has only won twice and it is for this reason that Borussia Dortmund were able to catch up.

Due to the said losses, their lead was slowly, cut down to one (1). The club is still the 2nd best club in Bundesliga. However, there is no assurance that they will be able to retain their rank considering the lackluster performance that they have been showing.

Mainz 05

Although they dropped to the 9th spot of the table, Mainz 05 did an impressive job in forcing a draw against Schalke 04.

The scoreless stalemate may have denied Mainz a move upward, but keeping a stalemate against Schalke 04 was already an impressive performance, given the fact that they are one of the strongest clubs in the league.

Mainz 05’s present form is also spectacular. They have only lost once in their last 6 matches and it looked like they will be eyeing for a victory or a draw against Bayer Leverkuse.

Prediction:  Stalemate

Both Bayer and Mainz are strong forces in the pitch. Bayer could have gotten the edge if not for their poor form. This is in stark contrast to Mainz, which have a better form, but thrive in the mid-table.
