Despite crushing Real Betis in their recent bout, injury is another area of concern that Barcelona faces. Will it end their winning streak?

Barcelona remains undefeated this season. The club won almost all of their matches if not for a scoreless stalemate against Ossassuna. It is also hard to ignore their strength when playing at Camp Nou.

Like other clubs, Barcelona plays the strongest in their own territory. But Barcelona’s record is impressive. They have yet to have a taste of defat in their 21 home matches. They can easily topple Granada at will. However, this is without the presence of the great Lionel Messi.

Messi pulled a hamstring, which will see him sidelined for 6 to 8 weeks. The decision to let him rest is to prevent incurring another injury and to prevent them from recurring. Needless to say, Messi is one of the club’s most consistent scoring machines.

Joining Messi is Gerard Pique. The defender already missed the encounter against Real Betis due to hip problems and is still, doubtful if he can make it against Granada.

With 2 key players out of the match, Tata Martino is not only compelled to adjust. The rest of the squad should be also open to the possibility of experiencing a down the wire match. There is no guarantee that Granada shall not feature in the clash.

Filled with confidence after clinching a victory during the derby against Malaga, Granada shall take advantage of the absence of Barcelona’s key players to ensure a spot in La Liga’s top 5.

With the said victory, Granada was able to jump to the 8th spot of the table. This was after enduring a lowly slot on the 14th  spot. Should they win, they can easily climb into the top 10 or even reach the top 5. The timing is just (perfect) as their worries are lessened due to Pique and Messi’s absence.

Granada, however, cannot be too over confident as even with Messi and Pique’s absence, Barcelona continues to be a strong force on the pitch.

Football betting tip: Barcelona 4-2 Granada

Expect Barcelona to continue scoring even without Messi and Pique. However, rest assured that Granada will also take the opportunity to show off their scoring abilities against the host.
