Certain football betting odds expect a draw between Atletico Madrid and Sevilla. This is possible since anything can really happen in football. However, a closer examination of the clubs’ past performance and current form, shows that the Los Rojiblancos have the edge.

Just recently, Atletico Madrid added another Copa del Rey silverware into its collection. What is even more brilliant is the fact that it outlasted one of the league’s celebrated teams, Real Madrid. Surviving and even emerging as the battle’s winner, has readily prepared the club for the new season.

If you carefully think about it, the encounter was more valuable than winning several friendlies. It was not just about the trophy. Rather, it was more on how the group’s style improved on the pitch.

On the other hand, Sevilla’s performance last season may not be as spectacular as that of the Los Rojiblancos. Yet, they are a much better club compared to others. The Sevillistas finished on the 9th spot, with a satisfactory goal difference. Several days ago, the team confirmed the transfer of PSG’s striker, Kevin Gameiro.

Gameiro’s entry can be interpreted not only as the attempt to give more oomph to their scoring, but also a perfect solution to improve its goal difference stats. Along with Gameiro is the defender Diogo Figueiras.

Sevilla’s new recruits are certainly, adding more depth to the squad. But can they last against the Rojiblancos’ David Villa and Leo Baptistao? True enough, El Tigre’s departure was a big blow to the team. But perhaps what separates Diego Simeone from Unai Emery is that he has more material or reserves to work on.

The Rojiblancos have already slammed better and bigger clubs and this kind of experience and the squad’s new line-up, shall be their main weapon against the Sevillistas.
