West Ham United- Carroll

Aston Villa takes the online betting favorite role when they meet West Ham United. The club will surely take advantage of  Andy Carroll’s absence, West Ham’s trusted striker.

Match Date: 08 February 2014 (local time)
Venue: Villa Park

Team Form
Aston Villa

A disappointing defeat from Everton will set the Villan’s pace as they try to bounce back at Villa Park.

Just when the Villans thought they have total control of the match, Leandro Bacuna’s early goal got a late reply from Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas. Such situation resulted to the club’s second loss in their last six (6) matches.

Aston Villa has really nothing to worry since they will surely make it through the next season. Currently occupying the 10th spot of the table, they brag an equally distributed number of wins, losses and draws in their last six (6) matches. It may not be the best compared to other clubs, but this has kept them in the elite group of the table.

Perhaps, if there is one thing that should really worry Aston Villa and therefore pressure them to acquire more wins, it is the fact that they need to make a stronger finish. The club ended in the 15th spot of the table last season. But with the way things go for the Villans, it seemed that they are indeed, headed for a better season.

West Ham United

The struggling Hammers get another opportunity to move out of the relegation zone as they clash against Aston Villa.

A single victory or even a draw can lift West Ham United from the bottom of the table and apparently, this is very much possible. Despite the rank difference West Ham’s current team form is nor very far from the Villans. They too, share an equal number of losses, wins and draws in their last 6 battles. They can also take advantage of the fact that Aston Villa have been conceding at least two (2) goals during their last four (4) matches.

However, West Ham will need to score without the assistance of striker Andy Carroll, who is banned for three (3) matches after a face-off with Swansea’s defender, Chico Flores.

Prediction:  Aston Villa

West Ham has only won once against Aston Villa during their six (6) previous encounters. Carroll’s absence will have a definite impact to the club’s performance and thus, make winning a difficult feat.
