2014-2015 Serie A Previews: Week 9 (Part 4)

Juventus - Week 9

Inter vs. Sampdoria

Match Date: 29 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Giueseppe Meazza

Although aware of their lackluster performance against Cesena, many of Inter’s players are satisfied with their narrow victory.

The online betting favorite has managed to snatch a 1-0 triumph, thanks to Mauro Icardi’s efficient penalty conversion. Due to this, its rank also rose to the 8th spot of the table, thus, bringing more hope for the squad.

There is no reason for La Samp to be frustrated with its even steven finish against the capital club, AS Roma. They were the first team to inflict such frustration to the title contender and they were able to gain a point from the said stalemate. It may have little impact towards their rank, but clearly, the squad is keeping all the positives in the recently concluded match.

The upcoming game against Inter becomes even more exciting due to the racist remark of Sampdoria’s president, Massimo Ferrero against Inter’s new president, Erik Thohir.

Just recently, Ferrero disclosed that he told Inter’s former head honcho, Massimo Moratti to “kick out that Filipino,” while referring to Thohir, This sparked criticisms since Thohir is in fact Indonesian and of course, the reference to the Filpino people was done in a bad light.
Ferrero has already issued his apology over the said matter.

Inter 3-2 Sampdoria

Genoa vs. Juventus

Match Date: 29 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Luigi Ferraris

Genoa’s victory against Chievo Verona was just enough to generate tons of optimism in their scheduled face-off against Juventus.

According to Gian Piero Gasperini, the 2-1 win shall give the squad a better form at home.

Genoa has been having problems in instilling a consistent performance at home and hopefully, its recent victory will help them address such dilemma.

An undefeated Juventus is eager to continue its winning streak despite the absence of its trusted defender, Patrice Evra.  A thigh injury sees the stellar player sidelined for almost a month.

It could be a big blow for the Bianconneris, but considering the depth of its team form, there is no doubt that the defending champion could easily win the upcoming match.

Genoa 0-3 Juventus
