Napoli-Week 9

Fiorentina vs. Udinese

Match Date: 29 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Artemio Franchi

Fiorentina’s attempt to penetrate Serie A’s top 10 was temporarily halted with an even steven finish against AC Milan.

The Violas’ form and depth have not been at par with expectations as injury woes continue to torture the squad. So far, the club has only won twice since the season kicked off. Majority of the points it accumulated came from draws, which explains its  slow rise to the top of the league table.
Despite the (mediocre) performance though, Fiorentina could be inspired by the return of striker Mario Gomez.

Gomez has been in and out of the pitch due to a seemingly chronic injury.

A win against Atalanta propelled Udinese’s rise to the 3rd spot. After finishing in the 13th spot of the league table last season, the Zebrettes transformed into a strong sports betting favorite due to its stellar performances.

Since the season started, the club has already bagged five (5) wins. Currently, the club trails the title contender, Roma by three (3) points. All they need is to secure more wins to level with the capital club and hopefully, snatched the title away from Juventus.

Atalanta vs. Napoli

Match Date: 29 October 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’ Italia

Atalanta  is in dire need of stepping up its game as another loss will ultimately pushed them to the relegation zone.

Just recently, it had a taste of its 5th loss for this season. Even its head honcho, Stefano Colantuono was lost for words in describing what transpired in their previous match.

Atalanta currently occupies the 16th spot of the table—just a notch higher than the dreaded zone.

Napoli recorded the biggest win last week. The club smashed Hellas Verona with six (6) goals to earn the admiration of many.

Despite the big win, this barely affected the squad’s rank in the league table. They remained at the 7th spot, but definitely, their recent triumph sends a strong message to their upcoming opponents.
