Bordeaux- Week 15

Lens vs. Metz

Match Date: 29 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade Feliz Bollaert

Lens succumbed to another bout of defeat when it went against the online betting favorite, Lorient. Suffering its 3rd consecutive defeat, Lens is compelled to reconsider its playing style and strategy. Its chances of being relegated is high and almost definite since it occupies the rock bottom part of the table. They need to turn things around if they want to retain their Ligue 1 status.

Metz, despite its defeat to Paris Saint Germain, presented a spectacular display against the title contender.

Modibo Maiga’s clinical performance in the penalty line gave the defending champion a good scare. Unfortunately, they were defeated. Nevertheless, the squad made a clear statement. It has successfully emphasized that they’re far from being mere push-overs in the competition.

Bordeaux vs. Lille

Match Date: 30 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade Chaban-Delmas

Bordeaux just bowed down to Marseille in an epic clash that witnessed them endure a 3-1 loss.

However, the defeat doesn’t mean that the team is no longer worthy of plaudits. Indeed, they were outlasted. Yet, their previous performances have been good that they have managed to remain in the table’s top five (5). They have higher winning possibilities than Lille considering the fact that they have a better form and the home court advantage.

Lille’s loss to Reims earned them their 4th loss during their last six (6) matches. It also meant that they were on their 5th losing streak. The squad currently occupies the  14th spot of the table and is struggling to get back to its winning form.
