FC Bordeaux - Week 13

Caen vs. Nantes

Match Date: 08 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade Michel d’ Ornano

Caen may have experienced a narrow defeat to Metz, but its previous performance cannot be questioned. Caen unleashed a late rally during the 2nd half in which it was able to equalize. However, its efforts fell short as Alaeddine Yahia was sent out of the match and Florent Malouda comfortably secured a penalty to snatch the well-deserved victory.

Nantes was thankful for Rennes’ Sylvain Armand’s own goal during their clash last week. The petty mistake enabled the team to equalize in a match that Rennes could have easily dominated had it not for the minor lapses that it committed.

Nevertheless, the bottom line was that Nantes got the most out of the said match and Rennes took the loser’s role.

Nantes did experience a drop in its Ligue 1 rank though. But this barely matters for it was able to salvage a point instead of losing all three (3).

Caen 1-2 Nantes

Lens vs. Bordeaux

Match Date: 08 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stade Feliz Bollaert

Lens paid dearly for failing to capitalize on its early lead against Marseille during their recent clash. The newly-promoted squad almost stunned the online betting favorite, but a crack in defence helped Marseille stole the show instead.

Lens dropped to the 17th spot due to the said loss. The club is desperate in snatching another win to avoid the relegation zone and a possible return to the 2nd division.

Bordeaux joined Ligue 1’s elite after snatching a narrow win against Toulouse. Led by Marc Planus, the club embarked on a scoring demolition to prevent Alain Casanova from stealing the spotlight from them.

With the said victory, Bordeaux currently occupies the 4th spot of the Ligue table and is keen on nailing another victory to penetrate the top three (3).
