Sevilla - Week 12

Barcelona vs. Sevilla

Match Date: 22 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: Camp Nou

It seems that Barcelona has finally recovered from their El Clasico defeat. After two (2) consecutive losses, Barca is back to its winning ways. The perennial sports betting favorite snatched an easy win against the struggling Almeria, with Neymar and Jordi Alba leading the scoring attack.

Luis Suarez also showed his influence via delivering crucial assists and taking shots in the said match.

Due to the said win, Barcelona is back on the title race again. Considering the narrow gap that separates them from Real Madrid, a victory against Sevilla will help them increase the pressure against their closest title rival.

Sevilla was shocked when the lowly Levante prevented them from taking the three (3) points in their encounter. The minnow kept them at bay and literally forced them to be satisfied with an even steven finish.

However, as if the draw wasn’t enough, Unai Emery’s expertise is further put to the test with the injury issues that he has to confront.

Beto, Alejandro Arribas, Fernando Navarro and Benoit Tremoulinas are all sidelined during the Levante clash.

Barcelona 2-1 Sevilla

Villarreal vs. Getafe

Match Date: 23 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: El Madrigal

It is never difficult to understand Marcelino Garcia Toral’s disappointment over his squad during the even steven finish against Espanyol. The squad was already suffering from two (2) consecutive losses and they needed a win to regain their confidence and improve their rank.

They have all the advantage, but unfortunately, their opponent snatched a late rally, which prevented them from moving forward in the league table.

Due to their dismal performance, Toral is keen on exploiting the international break to regroup and shift their focus to winning more matches.

A scoreless stalemate raises the red flag on Getafe’s camp. Its head honcho, Cosmin Contra shared that he is bothered by the club’s “lack of goals.”

Contra added that the draw was a result of the team’s inability to exploit their scoring chances and not so clinical finishes.

Villarreal 2-1 Getafe
