Valencia CF - Week 11

Espanyol vs. Villarreal

Match Date: 09 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: Cornella-El Prat

Espanyol’s Sergio Gonzalez has reasons to be disappointed with the club’s lackluster performance.

After a scoreless stalemate against the newly-promoted Deportivo La Coruna, the last thing that Gonzalez expected was a loss—apparently, not with a club, which flirts in the relegation zone.

Villarreal also shares the sentiment with Espanyol. Disappointment and frustration are also felt within the Villarreal camp as the squad experienced a heavy defeat to Valencia.
It was the 2nd consecutive defeat of the Yellow Submarine and so far, these losses have already affected the online betting favorite’s  rise on top of the table.

Valencia vs. Athletic Bilbao

Match Date: 09 November 2014 (local time)

Venue: Martinez Valero

Once again, Valencia snatched a crucial win that propelled them to the 2nd spot of the La Liga table. Indeed, they are the dark horses of the current season and should their impressive performance continue, they have a high possibility of qualifying in the next Champions League and even snatch the title.

Valencia smashed Villarreal in their recently concluded derby, when they scored three (3) goals against Villarreal’s one (1).

Athletic Bilbao

A frustrated Athletic Bilbao will come face to face with Valencia after its early exit in the Champions League.

Just recently, the squad was defeated by Porto, which ended their short stint in the said competition.

Athletic Bilbao struggled a lot in the domestic league and even hit the rock bottom spot of the league due to the fast-paced and demanding needs of the two (2) leagues. But so far, they have already shown some improvement and is now back on track.
