Wolfsburg- Week 14

Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Hertha Berlin

Match Date: 06 December 2014 (local time)

Venue: Stadion im Borussia-Park

Borussia Monchengladbach

It seems that Borussia Monchengladbach hasn’t fully recovered from their (unexpected) loss to Borussia Dortmund. The trauma behind Cristoph Kramer’s own goal continues to haunt the squad and is readily manifested by the defeats experienced in the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt and just recently, Wolfsburg.

Losing to Wolfsburg marked their 3rd consecutive defeat and clearly, this isn’t doing any good in their campaign. Schalke, which was initially miles away from them, has already found their pace and are now leveled with them. The only thing that separates them now is a mere three (3) point goal difference.

Now what does this situation implies? Clearly, there’s a decline in performance. Opportunities are missed and points were lost. The Foals remain as online betting favorite though, but winning against the capital club will not be an easy one.

Hertha Berlin

Last season’s striking performance created expectations that the capital club will be featuring this season. Unfortunately, these expectations were unmet. The squad seems to struggle in veering away from the relegation zone as they can only count on two (2) points to save them. Apparently, this is not enough. The moment that rock bottom teams rally for their survival, mid-table squads can no longer rely on their small leads. And such is the dilemma that Hertha Berlin currently faces. They are in dire need of a strong threshold—an armor or shield that will protect them from threats or high-risk scenarios. But how can they do that? The squad will be facing a worthy opponent—one that is eager to return to winning ways.

Considering these aspects at hand, we’re looking at two scenarios. It is either Hertha Berlin pull off a stunning win or be content with an even steven finish. But it doesn’t end here. Needless to say, the threat of losing three (3) points remain high.

It will not be an easy feat for the capital club, but out of necessity, they’re compelled to snatch an important victory.

Prediction

Borussia Monchengladbach  1-1 Hertha Berlin

Hannover 96 vs. Wolfsburg

Match Date: 06 December 2014 (local time)

Venue: AWD Arena

Hannover 96

A defeat doesn’t necessarily translates to a team’s weakness and this is exactly what happened to Hannover.

Hannover’s encounter with Hoffenheim manifested pure class from both squads. Relentless and unstoppable, these teams refused to wave the white flag. Despite losing, Hannover gave its opponent a headache. They made the match difficult and even threatened to equalize after Lars Stindl scored on the 86th minute. Indeed, Hannover fell short, but the fact that they were able to step up to the challenge, makes them a strong contender when they face Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg

The Wolves are probably howling with joy when they secured a narrow victory against Die Fohlen. It is through such triumph that they were able to strengthen their grip of the table’s 2nd spot. And should they continue such performance, they can easily vie for their Champions League appearance next season.

Yet, long before they count their chickens, the best thing that the squad should do is to return to their combative mode. Definitely, Hannover will refuse to settle for a stalemate or a loss, well, not in their territory. And considering how fierce their opponent is, the Wolves should temporarily end their joyous howls and instead, turn them into load and roaring battle cry when they visit Hannover.

Prediction

Hannover 96  1-2 Wolfsburg
