Week highlights

The Los Blancos emerged as the biggest winner of last week’s series of matches. After suffering 2 consecutive losses, Carlo Ancelotti’s side destroyed the newly-promoted Deportivo La Coruna with 8 massive goals. Deportivo was literally left in tatters during the said match as they try to respond to the challenge, but could only come up with 2 goals.

However, despite the said win, the top pick of sports betting sites, Real Madrid still needs to win more games before it finds its way back to the top. Its biggest rival, Barcelona remains undefeated and has also nailed a massive win when it thrashed Levante with 5 goals and kept a clean sheet. Evidently, the Madridistas need to work harder if they are serious on securing the title this season.

Meanwhile in Atletico Madrid, the club was forced to settle for an even steven finish when it went against Celta Vigo. It seems like the current titleholder was unable to get over with the narrow defeat that it experienced in the Champions League.

Scene-stealers

Real Madrid attackers readily made an impression last week. Cristiano Ronaldo’s hattrick was supported by goals from James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale and even the marquee player, Chicharito, has managed to nail a brace, much to the delight of the Madridistas.

The blunders

Athletic Bilbao seemed overwhelmed with their Champions League participation that they seemed to forget their responsibilities in the domestic league. The squad is almost at the rock bottom part of La Liga after incurring another loss.

What to expect

Expect more goals from CR7 and watch out on how Atletico Madrid will regroup after a seemingly disorganized performance.
