La Liga Team Review: Eibar

Since it was established in 1940, Eibar has always been contented with playing within the realms of Liga Adelante. But the 2013/2014 season was different. The Armeros were more aggressive and determined to carve its name in the exciting history of Spanish football. And they did it in a highly impressive manner.


Eibar, together with Deportivo de La Coruña were one of the teams that clinched an automatic promotion to Primera Division. Eibar did not only secured its entry into the top-flight league, it also snatched the title against Deportivo de La Coruña.


Match to remember

The Armeros’ were blessed with the opportunity to have a display of their strengths and skills when they went against Real Madrid Castilla.


In the said match, Eibar scored six (6) massive goals—one of them came from an own goal by Jorge Casado. The result of the said match can be fairly considered as one of the biggest wins ever accomplished in the history of Liga Adelante.


Match to forget

Prior to dominating the Segunda Division, Eibar had its share of ups and downs too. One of its most disappointing losses was the defeat to Girona. The latter scored three (3) goals and kept a clean sheet against them. What was even worse was the fact that the club incurred two (2) red cards.

Scoring eleven (11) points, Jota was Eibar’s ultimate man of the match.
