La Liga Preview: Málaga will not survive Barcelona’s assault

Barcelona v Deportivo La Coruna - La Liga

They completed their La Liga campaign last season with a whooping victory, amassing a total of 100 points to top the League table. This new season, Barcelona is again aiming for a repeat triumph, and their determination to do just that has been clearly seen in their massive win over Levante 7-0 in the tournament’s inaugural day. For their second appearance, Barça will be joined in the pitch by last season’s sixth placers, Málaga. The match will kickoff at 03:00 on August 25 at Los Boquerones’ home court, Estadio La Rosaleda.

Málaga debuted in this term’s Bundesliga with a poor performance against Valencia, failing to make even just one goal 0-1. That might indicate a tough and long season for the Bernd Schuster-managed side. Earlier during the pre-season friendlies, however, the side displayed agreebale performances. They may have been vanquished by Aston Villa 2-3 in the final match, but they were thoroughly successful in their tourneys against Algeciras 4-0 and Augsburg 1-0.

Barcelona, with Lionel Messi absent due to injury, stay strong despite missing (albeit, temporarily) a club emblem. Cesc Fabregas or Neymar or even Cesc are just around to substitute him in the middle. New club coach Tata Martino is also upfront when it comes to making sure that his men are in their best shape. That applies true to their highly impressive stint involving Levante, as well as many other matches during the pre-season friendlies.

Málaga have never conquered Barcelona in a very long time. Whether it is in La Liga, Club Friendlies, or Copa del Rey, the side were rendered inferior of their enemies. Bottomline, Barcelona are every other team’s major block (particularly those in the midtable and near or at the relegation spots). The side host a powerful ensemble, cloaked in an excellent coaching system, backed by a substantial financial support, and motivated by huge base of enthusiasts who faithfully bet online for their favorite squad. This much with Málaga will just be another easy win for Barça.
