May 8, 2011 was the last date Almeria and Getafe had a clash for a possible La Liga win. That catapulted frustration for the former, as Getafe eventually concluded the match with a 0-2 sweet victory. On August 24, the two sides will be set to renew a duel, aimed at seizing the same trophy they fought over two years ago in the very same venue: Coliseum Alfonso Pérez (Getafe’s home court).

Newly promoted Almeria made an astonishing stint last season for the Segunda División, having been honored with the third spot overall and ensuring their eligibility to the Spanish top level football. They were in the A List of online bookies’ folio during that season. In the Club Friendlies, two out of their three matches gave Francisco Rodríguez’s men positive reputation (Villareal 1-0, Real Murcia 3-2) and succumbed only to one defeat to Real Valladolid 2-0.

Getafe’s opening form for the new La Liga season seems to be in peril, having been overthrown by Real Sociedad 0-2 and landing at the lower rim of the current League table. During the Club Friendlies, the side also did not show much enthusiasm in their fixtures, with defeats capping two matches (Heracles 0-1, Fayenoord 1-3) and a draw crowning another one (Bastia 0-0). These, however, cannot entirely decide for the future of the Luis García Plaza-managed squad. The side’s strength has been proven for ages and being part of the Spanish top division for 10 consecutive seasons is a proof of their indestructible grace. Almeria, in comparison, have only been promoted to La Liga twice which include the current season.

Getafe’s percentage-based probability of making a home win is an ample 47.37 percent, which is much higher than Almeria’s 15.79 percent (away). The away team, however, will give Getafe a hard time in the pitch which will make scoring very exciting. By the end of the tourney, the winners will only be able to deliver a one-goal lead over the losing side.
