A much-needed victory for Malaga came in with a towering success over Celta Vigo on weekend at the Estadio de Balaidos. Ignacio Camacho delivered the squad a clean sheet by scoring twice in the space of just eight minutes to provide Los Boquerones all three points and give the Bernd Schuster side another shot at survival. Malaga were very impressive throughout the battle but showed their control of the game most astonishingly in the final 35 minutes when they managed to keep their opponents at bay and conceded zero goals in spite of being reduced to ten men following a straight red card for Duda.

Inconsistency remains a strong issue for Espanyol especially after their held Levante in a goalless draw just recently. The disappointing result just worsened the side’s chances at attaining berth in the Europa League. It could have materialized if only they managed to convert all the scoring opportunities. The Periquitos were impressive at the match’s start but eventually dwindled towards the battle’s death.

Football betting tip: Malaga should haul another league win.

Elche vs. Athletic Bilbao

Match Date: 25 March 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Martínez Valero

Elche made it three weeks without a win after they conceded a goal and lost all the points to Granada. The defeat was particularly painful as they actually found some scoring chances only to blow them away. Los Franjiverdes strove hard in the first half but were largely unsuccessful with Carles Gil and Manu Del Moral both denied by Granada keeper Roberto Fernandez.

Athletic Bilbao, meanwhile, strengthened their traction on the fourth spot as they thrashed Getafe on a narrow 1-0 victory. Markel Susaeta struck the only goal of the show nine minutes past the half-hour, and although Los Leones were easily the healthier side, they were unable to beef up their lead. They are running five league weeks without a defeat.

Sports betting tip: Athletic Bilbao will bring home the bacon.
