Real Madrid will try to protect their leadership against an approaching storm created by fellow title favorites Barcelona. The current and previous frontrunners are expected to drive a whirlwind of stunning displays, especially that their respective top players are in blown up appetite to grab the championship.

Both squads have two players (each) sidelined, Arbeloa and Khedira for Los Blancos while Cuenca and dos Santos for Barca. Their strengths are also of almost the same caliber, showing equal skills at creating scoring chances, counter attacking, and defending set pieces. Form-wise, however, Real Madrid have a slightly much better record than Barcelona. The former were unbeaten in their last 31 fixtures (all competitions) while the latter were defeated five times in the same number of matches.

Online betting tip: This battle will conclude in what would probably be the season’s most breathtaking stalemate.

Almeria vs. Real Sociedad

Match Date: 24 March 2014 (local)

Match Venue: Estadio Mediterraneo

Almeria’s return to the relegation zone (after nine weeks of safety) is proof that they have not yet fully resolved issues surrounding their form. They are running five consecutive league weeks without a win and barely picked up a point to keep them a spot above the table’s foot. There are serious problems in the Francisco Rodríguez side’s defense, which shows up much clearly on their worrisome goal difference of -25.

Of all Spanish clubs, Real Sociedad hold the top spot for the Europa League qualifications, standing firmly at the table’s fifth position just behind Athletic Bilbao. Their form is not necessarily perfect, but is among the strongest in the competition. A 1-0 victory over Valencia caps their most recent result, which they obtained following back-to-back defeats from Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano.

Football betting tip: Real Sociedad are the clear winners from this fixture.
