While Betis no longer have the chance to fight for survival, Osasuna still have it. It is a long shot, but still a possibility. The side are buried in the top spot of the relegation zone and would need to conquer their final La Liga battle in order to secure safety, provided that Granada fail to win their respective tourneys.

Real Betis have recorded more defeats than wins or draws in the season. Their total score from 37 matches only reached 25 points. They were repeatedly battered by tremendous forces coming from their rivals, causing a massive slide in their goal count and an apparently dismaying form. They have the lowest goal difference among all clubs, having scored only 35 goals and conceded 76. The downfall is most heartbreaking for center-back Paulao who was crushed by the pain and responsibility of Betis’ turmoil. He even pleaded, “Somebody, take me out of here.” All throughout the fixtures, the Beticos lurched from disaster to disaster.

Osasuna’s hopes for another season in the Spanish top-tier football remains intact, this is in spite of their cliff-steep situation between the safe spots and the drop zone. The side have been winless for five straight weeks, although only two of these were defeats. Resilience is Los Rojillos’ top characteristic, but they must prove this to be true by making their last battle in La Liga very successful.

Head to head, Osasuna and Betis are quite level. Both squads have won twice and forced stalemate once in their last five face-offs. However, Javi Gracia’s men scored more goals than the Beticos in the same matches.

Football betting tip: Osasuna will earn all three points and may survive relegation.
